Niklas Luhmann, the prolific sociologist who published more than 400 papers (and 70 books!) in his career, was famous for writing small notes to himself and keeping them in his zettelkasten, or slipbox. I’ve taken this approach to heart over the last year or so, writing down nearly everything I think through on a deep level.
